Day 20

Day 20: July 21

It's over. Yes, it is over. I am in both a state of pure happiness and one of utter misery. The happiness is definitely more overwhelming though. Today was pretty simple. Got breakfast which was actually really good, and then made sure everything was perfect. All my luggage and my carry-on. They had to be perfectly perfect. So we said more goodbyes and then got on the coash for the last time. ::tear:: At the airport, I discovered something that I had forgotten: my hiking stick! Remember? The one that I used to hike all the way up to the top of that mountain in Austria? Well, I was hellbent on bringing that back, so I got the butter knife that the D.A.M.N. party had used to make PBJ sandwiches on our hike and began sawing that mofo in half. I really didn't want to, but it's the only way I could fit it in my suitcase. So after about 10 minutes of sawing and a pile of sawdust later, I got it in half and put it in my suitcase. So then began the customs bullshit. You should know how that goes. We couldn't find any freaking food anywhere except for gummi shit & M&Ms. That sucked. So we arranged things so that Matt, Kelly and I would sit together on the plane, and it was a pretty fun plane ride. The layover was quick and easy too. It consisted, as usual, of music, sleep and Gin. It was a good time. And then, boom: we're back in America. It's a relaly weird feeling. Finally back here. Weird. The customs people were very very anal and kind of makes me miss Europe in that way: not as many anal-retentive ass holes. The roof above baggage claim was leaking. That sucked. But, after much confusion, we said goodbyes and boarded the bus back to good 'ole Pennsylvania. Everybody laked and took pictures in the first 20 minutes but then before you knew it, everyone was out like a light. I slept the ENTIRE TIME. Period. And then I got off the bus to see my mom and grandma waiting for me. And so ends my trip to Europe. It had it's goods and bads, but overall, it was awesome. All the new friends I now have. All the memories. It's really been great. And all of it captured in this neat little journal. That's special. But anyway. For the last time, I am tired and want to sleep. GOODBYE.
